OUR STORY | We met through mutual friends, and as luck would have it, we walked down the aisle together as groomsman and bridesmaid before we were ever a couple. Fast forward a little under 2 years later, and we were walking down the aisle together again to become husband and wife!
Along the way, we discovered that we make a pretty awesome team in anything we do. From sharing chores to surviving in the Boundary Waters, we can tackle anything together. We are the yin to each other's yang.
In our spare time, we are typical Minnesotans and get outside whenever possible. We love to do all of the biking (mountain, road, and winter fat biking) as well as camp, fish, and spend time with family & friends. As much as we like to play hard, we like to relax with a microbrew or glass of wine as well. In May of 2019, we became a family of 3. Our handsome Mr. Westley keeps us on our toes and it's amazing to watch him learn and grow. We also have 2 cats as house pets.
OUR WHY | We know how powerful it is to have moments captured for forever in photos. On our own wedding day, one of our favorite images is of Jerrid dancing with Danae's 94-year old grandma. It was a moment that Grandma Jerry is "just tickled pink" about, and we will enjoy sharing the story with our children. We love documenting all of the fleeting moments as well as create an experience that isn't just about the perfect pose, but also about infusing natural connection and raw emotions.
DANAE MICHELS| Wifey, Lead Photographer, Blogger, Editor and Professional Dress-Fluffer. I am known to geek out over handmade/sentimental wedding details, perfect photo locations and literally every single engagement ring. I love helping you feel natural in front of the camera and am known to climb Jeeps to get the perfect shot. In case you're wondering, it's pronounced Dah-Nay Michaels and it's totally OK if you still need to ask :).
JERRID MICHELS | Hubby, Assistant Photographer, Tactical Reconnaissance Scout (aka the driver while we are scouting spots for amazing photos, tech guy and the general "go-fer" guy. After having 4 younger sisters and 5 nephews, I have a natural knack for making people smile. I get to hang out with the guys during the "getting ready" portion of weddings and love catching all the guests' emotions during the wedding and reception.
WESTLEY | Baby extraordinaire, future photographer in training. His favorite things include chasing the kitties, snuggles and keeping mom and dad on their toes.
